Klonopin is a member of the class of drugs called benzodiazepines. This medication is known as an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug.
It is used to treat panic attacks or seizure disorders by calming your brains and nerves. It also provides
short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety.
Dosage and administration
Swallow tablet as whole with a glass of water.
Take Klonopin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Don’t take larger or smaller amounts for longer than
recommended by doctor.
Klonopin should be used for short time period not more than nine weeks.
To ensure effects of Klonopin, blood and liver function may need to be tested. Pay visits to your doctor
Don’t stop taking Klonopin without doctor advice even if you feel fine. Unpleasant withdrawal symptoms
or increased seizures may result if you stop taking this medicine suddenly.
Take the missed dose as soon you remember. Don’t take extra dose to make up the missed dose.
Klonopin should not use if you have severe liver disease.

Avoid drinking alcohol as effects of alcohol may be increased by Klonopin.
Klonopin is habit forming and should only be used by the person it is prescribed for.
You should not take Klonopin if you are allergic to clonazepam or other benzodiazepines such as
alprazolam, chlordiazepoxide, clorazepate, lorazepam or oxazepam.
It may cause harm to unborn baby and can cause breathing or feeding problems in nursing baby. Don’t
start or stop taking Klonopin during pregnancy without medical advice.
The sedative effects of Klonopin may last longer in adults. Use caution to avoid any accidental injury.
Report your doctor about symptoms such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, restlessness, aggression,
hyperactivity, hostility, irritability or suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, painful urination, pounding
heartbeats, fear, confusion, pale skin, shallow breathing and easy bleeding or bruising. Common side
effects are drowsiness, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, skin rash, stuffy nose and muscle weakness,
lack of coordination, memory problems, sleeping problems, sore gums, dry mouth or slurred speech.
