The generic name of this drug is Isoxsuprine. The brand name is Vasodilan. Vasodilan is a vasodilating agent. Vasodilan relaxes and widens the blood vessels in muscles and other tissues. This improves blood circulation to these muscles and tissues. Vasodilan is a blood disorder relief and is used mainly to treat poor blood flow.
The injection is used when the veins and arteries have reduced blood flow. It is also used to treat diseases of the blood vessels, threatened abortion, labor pain that is premature, cramps in the night among other similar conditions.
How to Use Vasodilan
Vasodilan can be taken with or without food. If a dose of Vasodilan is missed then it should be taken as soon as possible. If the time is almost right for the next dose and you haven’t taken the previous one then skip the previous one and take the next dose. Two doses of Vasodilan shouldn’t be taken at the same time.
When consuming this medication, make sure that you are consuming the correct dose. It is not safe to increase or decrease the dose without consulting your physician.
Increasing the dose does not enhance the effectiveness of the medication. Instead, it will only make you more susceptible to the side effects.

The severe side effects include the following:
Allergic reactions which are severe such as rash or hives
Constriction/tight feeling in the chest
Swollen mouth, face, lips or tounge
A pain in the chest
Fast or irregular heart beat
Severe or persistent dizziness
The less common side effects for Vasodilan are nausea and vomiting, which is more common for the injection.

You have bleeding of the arteries
You are in labor or have just given birth to a child
You should inform the doctor that you are taking Vasodilan if you

Are about to undergo surgery
Pregnant or breastfeeding
This should not be given immediately after child birth or when there is arterial bleeding.
